terms and conditions of service

1 Work will be carried out during normal working hours of 0800 to 1600 when possible

2 Care will be taken during all the works, but the offer does not include
a) renewing flooring or other joinery work not specified
b) incidental redecoration necessary following the proper execution of the installation

3 The work will be carried out as quickly as possible in accordance with the specification which may be amended only upon written instruction prior to commencement of work, when the quotation will be adjusted accordingly

4 Where the flues pass through an outside wall PlumbsUp will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that when filling the hole, this matches the existing wall finish, but exact matching cannot be guaranteed

5 It will be the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all existing flues are in good condition and that the flue is free of obstruction and properly swept or cleaned before any installation. For the clearance of obstructed flues there will be an additional charge

6 Ventilation provisions will be in accordance with current legislation and other appropriate standards. Ventilation apertures must under no circumstances be removed or in any way obstructed after installation

7 The lifting of floor materials, floor coverings, including carpets, may be necessary and the customer will accept that damage may occur in lifting and relaying flooring materials and floor coverings, for which PlumbsUp cannot accept responsibility

8 The gas and water piping will be in approved tube, installed in accordance with the appropriate standards. Water piping installed below ground or in roof spaces will be insulated in accordance with appropriate standards. All piping will be concealed, as far as possible, but this will be at the discretion of PlumbsUp

9 PlumbsUp will remove all waste, unused materials and disconnected copper cylinders for which an allowance has been incorporated – old/superseded appliances remain the customers responsibility. When an existing cylinder is converted in-situ, it may be possible to re-install the customers immersion heater, on request, for which an additional charge may be made

10 All workmanship and materials are guaranteed for one year from date of completion of all works

11 PlumbsUp cannot be held responsible for strikes, lock-outs, industrial action, acts of God or other events which may prevent it from executing the installation

12 PlumbsUp cannot accept liability for damage to tiled or other surrounds which are removed as part of this Contract

13 The customer will have 28 days from the date of any quotation in which to accept. The price quoted will be held for a period of 42 days from the date of acceptance to allow for the completion of the work. Should the customer need to extend the period then it may be necessary to re-quote for the work

14 The rate of VAT, if applicable, in this Contract shall be that as applying at the tax point and in the event of the rate of VAT changing between the said order being placed and the tax point, the customer shall be liable to pay the revised rate of VAT

15 Where the customer wishes to opt for credit the sale will be conditional on a satisfactory credit rating being obtained after the completion of the PlumbsUp proposal form

16 Any workmanship that is not to the satisfaction of the Client shall be notified to PlumbsUp within 28 days of the date of completion of all works. Subsequent to agreement between the both parties all agreed additional works will be rectified free of charge
